Privacy Policy

ClearDraft (“ClearDraft,” “we,” “us”) is a free service that connects homeowners with independent chimney and dryer vent contractors. We do not perform home-improvement work ourselves. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Information you give us: your name, phone number, email address, ZIP code or project address, and details about your project (such as the service you need, timing, and whether you own the home).
- When you call us: the number you call from, the time and length of the call, whether it was answered, and any voicemail you choose to leave. Answered calls are recorded for quality and training, and you hear that before the call connects; we keep the recording and a written summary with your request.
- Information collected automatically: your IP address, device and browser type, pages you visit, the website that referred you, approximate location derived from your IP address, and advertising click identifiers (such as Google’s gclid). We collect this through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies.
- Information from others: the contractor(s) may tell us whether they reached you and whether your job moved forward, and advertising partners may provide campaign reporting.
- Request records: when you submit a form, we keep a record of what you sent, the wording shown next to the button, the time, and technical details that verify the submission.
How we use information
- To match your request with a contractor who serves your area and share your request with them.
- To contact you about your request by phone or email.
- To verify submissions and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse.
- To measure and improve our website, service, and advertising.
- To comply with law and enforce our Terms of Use.
How we share information
- Contractors. When you submit a request, we share your contact information and project details with a licensed local chimney pro who serves your area, so they can contact you and provide an estimate. Contractors are independent businesses; their use of your information is governed by their own policies. Contractors may pay us a fee when we share a request with them.
- Service providers that help us run our business, such as website hosting, call forwarding, email delivery, lead alerts, and analytics providers. They may use information only to provide services to us.
- Advertising and analytics partners, such as Google and Meta, through cookies and pixels on our site, to measure ad performance and show relevant ads.
- Legal and safety: when required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of ClearDraft, our users, or others.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Because contractors may pay us when we share a request, and because we use advertising cookies, some state laws may treat these disclosures as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. See Your privacy choices.
Cookies and advertising
We use cookies and similar technologies for site functionality, analytics, and advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings, opt out of Google’s personalized ads at adssettings.google.com, and learn about interest-based advertising choices at optout.aboutads.info. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals as a request to opt out of sale/sharing for that browser: with GPC on, our site does not load the Meta pixel, limits Google’s use of the data, and sends no hashed contact details. Our site does not respond to other “Do Not Track” signals.
Your privacy choices and state privacy rights
Depending on where you live (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon, and other states with consumer privacy laws), you may have the right to:
- Know or access the personal information we have about you;
- Correct or delete your personal information;
- Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information and of targeted advertising;
- Appeal a decision we make about your request.
To make a request, call us at (754) 333-3988 and say it is a privacy request. We will verify your request using the contact information you provided and respond within the time required by law. You may use an authorized agent. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Notice to California residents: in the past 12 months we have collected identifiers (name, phone, email, IP address), internet activity, approximate geolocation, audio (call recordings and voicemails), and information about your request, from the sources and for the purposes described above, and disclosed identifiers and request information to the contractor(s), our service providers, and advertising partners. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that require a right to limit. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.
Data retention
We keep personal information as long as needed for the purposes above. We keep request records for up to five years, to show what was asked for and when, and delete or de-identify other information when it is no longer needed.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children
Our service is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

We may update this policy. We will post the new version here.
